Green Bean Coffees: America - Brazil

Brazil

Coffee - Brazil A great high quality Brazilian coffee is soft, nutty, low acid, with nice bittersweet chocolate tastes. A good Brazilian coffee can add a lot to espresso blends, and is great straight! One of our consistent favorites is a natural Brazilian coffee, where the coffee is laid out to sun dry with the cherry on. This imparts a rich dry fruit flavour onto the coffee bean, and adds to the body of the cup!

Coffee was introduced in Brazil by Francisco de Mello Palheta in 1727 from Cayenne, French Guiana. Today, Brazil is the world's largest coffee producer and is becoming a significant player in the specialty coffee industry. Bourbon, Typica, Caturra, and Mundo Novo coffee varietals are grown in the states of Paraná, Espirito Santos, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Bahia.
